What the Referred User Must Do
The referred user must click on the affiliate link and complete a qualifying transaction on eBay within 24 hours. This includes buying an item with “Buy It Now,” placing a winning bid within 10 days, or having a “Best Offer” accepted within 24 hours of clicking the link.
What the Referrer Must Do
The eBay Partner Network (ePN) is eBay’s official affiliate program that allows individuals and businesses to earn commissions by driving traffic and generating sales on eBay. After joining the program, affiliates receive unique, trackable links that they can share across websites, social media, blogs, email, and other platforms. When someone clicks the link and makes a qualifying transaction (e.g., a “Buy It Now” purchase, winning a bid within 10 days, or having a Best Offer accepted within 24 hours), the affiliate earns a commission based on eBay’s category-specific rate card. Commission rates vary by product category and may be capped per transaction. Affiliates can use tools like Smart Share (Chrome extension), Link Generator, Bookmarklet Tool, and Smart Links to create and automate affiliate links. eBay also provides advanced integration tools like APIs and Smart Placements for personalized ad banners. Earnings are tracked via cookies valid for 24 hours, and payouts are made based on the revenue eBay earns from the sale. The program supports various affiliate models: content creators, deal/coupon sites, loyalty programs, comparison engines, mobile apps, and more. However, restrictions apply, especially for items with low/no revenue (e.g., charity sales or certain coupons), and all activity must comply with eBay’s Terms of Service and tracking guidelines.
What the Referrer Gets
The referrer receives a cash commission for each qualifying sale made through their affiliate link, with the amount determined by the product category and eBay’s rate card. Only one commission is paid per qualifying transaction, and certain items may yield reduced or no earnings depending on eBay’s revenue from the sale. Payments are issued based on the actual revenue generated and subject to transaction caps.
